The Hehe Erxian (和合二仙, Ho Ho Erh Hsien), Taoist immortals known for symbolizing harmony and union, are vividly depicted on this blue and white porcelain jar. Within the central circular medallion, the two immortals are shown energetically playing together, representing happiness, harmony, unity, and prosperity. The background features a wave pattern resembling interconnected coins, symbolizing wealth and good fortune, while the surrounding peony flowers (牡丹) represent nobility and prosperity. The intricate cobalt blue decorations reflect the refined painting techniques of the Kangxi period, with double-line borders at the top and bottom providing a sense of structural balance. The base features the classic double blue circle mark (雙圈), and the jar’s form follows the full yet well-proportioned silhouette characteristic of Kangxi-era porcelain. This piece exemplifies the aesthetic elegance and auspicious symbolism of Kangxi-period blue and white porcelain, making it a highly valuable collectible not only for its artistic merit but also for its cultural significance.
